More Kaela!

The last of my Sneek Peeks for now are the outdoor pix of Kaela Noury from Central. Another great day weather wise and Kaela's mom came along and was pressed into service as the Reflector holder - a prized position to handle! She did a wonderful job, which helps bring the extra sparkle into Kaela's eyes outdoors. The last shot was indoors on a new background I'd picked up and her pink sweater just begged to be photographed with my new acquisition!

It's my birthday ...

Woo hoo - as if it means anything other than me sitting down for a few minutes to update some of my Sneek Peeks. I've got 3 Seniors with some suweet shots to put up.

First is Melissa Gardner from Central - she's really into sports - so we definately had to do some with her sports gear, along with a few others too.

Pool Boy

Oh Yes, another Sneek Peek. I had a fun session early in the morning a couple of days ago with Kyle Clark - IW Sr. down at the Onarga Pool. He's been a Lifeguard there and wanted some of his Sr. Portraits there. It has been a few years since getting to do any portraits by the pool and it was alot of fun. Kyle's mom was in charge of running the reflector and did a great job while not blinding him in the process!

And we did some with his football jersey ...

Sittin' on my butt ...

I know - it's been forever - again. But I have a good reason for not posting anything new. The last 6 weeks I've been laid up with a broken leg. Here is a pic taken right after I fell while getting into this fountain & I was plopped up on a stool so the photo could go on. Board
This group is the board of directors of the Associated Professional Photographers of Illinois, and my current position is Chairman of the Board - otherwise known as Past President.

Fast forward to today. I've gotten the go ahead from the Dr. to start walking with crutches and by next week I will be back to photographing sessions again - albeit very slowly.

At least I've been able to occasionally get outside in the golf cart and photograph some flowers - they don't get away and are easy to capture - while I've been sittin' on my butt.

Now - by next week, I should be able to start putting some Sneak Peeks of Seniors on this blog!!

Late - but still excited

Being as how I am soooo behind in blogging - I had this pic from my state convention back in March. A little background on it - every year, the state photographers association has a convention and during the course of that event - a "shootout" is held. What that is is any photographers who want to enter can, and what happens is that each photog gets 10 minutes to photograph a model. We were lucky this year and had a real aspiring model to work with.
After each photographer finishes their 10 minutes, they choose the 1 image to go into competition. The image can have nothing done to it - no retouching, cropping or anything that photographers often use to make a so-so image into a great one.
Shown is the 1 image that I took and chose and I was pleasantly surprised to have my name announced as the 2nd place winner!!! This was against 19 other photographers, most of the other photogs entered are considered to be the top high school senior shooters in the state!!Shootout
My 2nd place win garnered me a 3 day workshop of my choice at the IPAS school (International Photographic Arts School) in Indianapolis. I chose Jen Hillenga's class - Images to Art & picked up a whole lot of new ideas that I am implementing!

What a game!!

I've been photographing the Gilman boys basketball Class 1a Regional Tournament this week. Last nite, the Iroquois West Raiders pulled it out in overtime to beat the Newark Norsemen. Talk about EXCITING!!
Here are a couple of shots from the game.

They will be playing the St. Anne Cardinals, who had won earlier in the evening against Gardner South Wilmington.

Way to go guys!! You Rock.

OK Ladies ...

I had the pleasure of photographing Neil Hollingsworth last weekend for his Sr. Portraits. He is a basketball phenom and mentioned during his session that he had to have some looks to please the ladies ...

Here are a couple of my favorite images that I think say that Neil likes basketball and should be easy on the female eyes ...
